Loremo: The Ultra Efficient Car - 157MPG!

Written by admin on November 2, 2008 – 4:42 pm

The car start-up developed a light-weight passenger car with outstanding aerodynamics. The Loremo LS is powered by a 2 cylinder Turbo Diesel engine with 20 hp and 160km/h top speed. The amazing thing is that the Loremo only needs 1.5l per 100km. This is approx. 157MPG!
The Toyota Prius hybrid has only 55MPG (combined city and highway).

With one tank (20l) you could drive 1,300km.

Loremo AG plans to sell the Loremo LS for less than 11,000 Euros (~$13,000).

One reason for the low consumption is the low weight of 450kg. The company designed the Loremo focusing on safety and efficiency and got rid of unnecessary functions. The car is small but still provides space for 4.
The design of the car is very futuristic and has for instance no conventional doors.

Loremo AG also plans to offer the Loremo GS with a bit stronger engine (50 hp, 2.7l/100km) that reaches top speeds of 220km/h (for the German Autobahn).
Loremo AG plans to have the first cars available in 2009. They plan to ship world-wide.

Electrical bus

Written by admin on November 2, 2008 – 4:42 pm

So I found this electrical microbus. It’s kind of exotic, but I like it. It’s a polivalent car, for people, for merchendise, taxi, rural turism, camping..It cames in 3 models, with 8, 11 and 14 places. The 14 places model has a maximium speed of 45 km/h and can run 100 km without recharge. The Cartagena model(14 places),has 16 batterys(96V).

Here is a picture with Cartagena model:

Written by admin on November 1, 2008 – 1:50 pm

In the start of an energy crisis and hoping in a cleaner city, the New York Mayor tried to pass a city rule  requiring that all new taxycab to be fuel -efficient hybrid vehicles, but Friday a federal judge blocked this ruling , saying this is against the Federal law. Only the Federal governement has the authority to enforce fuel efficiency standards. This new rule would have been effective on 1st of November.

In large, it says that all new cabs must achieve a fuel efficiency standard of 25 miles per gallon. The present yellow cab has about 14 miles per gallon, while some of the new hybrid models achive as much as 36 miles per gallon.

The mayor said that he will continue the fight to get a greener city.

UE money to help auto industry to become greener

Written by admin on October 29, 2008 – 2:54 pm

To produce environmental friendly cars, the European manufacturers asked for 40 billions euro due to the present financial crisis and the UE commissioner for industry Guenter Verheugen sustained in public this request.
There are some countries, the most affected ones, France, Germany, Italy, that are against legislative proposals to impose the development of a green line of cars to the manufacturers.
UE citizens have to be rewarded if they are taking care to recycle old and dangerous cars and choose greener cars, according to Verheugen system proposal.

Electric motorcycle

Written by admin on October 27, 2008 – 4:02 pm

After the presentation of the magnetic hybrid motorbike, here comes GPR-S, the electric motorcycle.
The new gprs motocycle is amazing both by its look and perfomance. Despite its exclusive electric propulsion, GPRS can reach a speed of 60-70 mph (Gearing Adjustable) and has a 35 / 60 miles (Power / Economy) autonomy, much more than enough for a decent motocycle the 19 HP electric powerplant is fueled with a lithium-ion battery. Thus Some motorcycles owners that ussually live at the yard and less in block houses can afford now to connect their motorcraft to an electric powerplant during a 4 hours perid, as long as the recharge is completed.
In case that the storage battery has to be urgently recharged, the BMS module reduces the time of this operation for justan hour and a half the motorsport electric company . the manufacturer of this model, already received 25 firmly orders and waits that in the future the number.
